Is Stockbruh Legit?
Short answer: yes. Stockbruh is a real educational platform using real financial data. Here is exactly where the data comes from, how ratings are generated, and what we are (and are not).
Data Source: Financial Modeling Prep (FMP)
All stock and ETF financial data on Stockbruh is sourced from Financial Modeling Prep (FMP), a well-known third-party financial data API used by thousands of developers globally. FMP aggregates data from SEC filings, earnings reports, and market feeds. We pull income statements, balance sheets, cash flow data, and price history to compute our weather ratings.
How Fresh is the Data?
Market prices and key metrics are refreshed daily. Fundamental data (income statements, balance sheets) follows quarterly earnings cycles — the same cadence as official SEC filings.
What Stockbruh Is
An educational analysis tool. We take publicly available financial data, apply our weather-themed rating system, and present it in plain English so beginner investors can understand what they are looking at.
What Stockbruh Is Not
- Not a broker — we do not execute trades, hold funds, or connect to brokerage accounts.
- Not financial advice — our ratings are educational snapshots, not buy/sell recommendations.
- Not a replacement for primary sources — SEC filings and official disclosures are always authoritative. We summarize and contextualize.
Transparent Ratings
Our rating thresholds are documented on the How We Rate page. Every Sunny/Cloudy/Thunderstorm follows deterministic rules applied to real financial metrics — no black-box AI.
